Our Maroons
NLC’s Training Specialists (we call them “Maroons”) are industry tradespeople with expertise in electric power, telecommunications, or natural gas. Every year, our Maroons deliver training to thousands of industry workers from pre-apprentice level to advanced, both on campus and all over the nation.

Training Specialist
NLC’s Training Specialists are industry tradespeople with expertise in electric power, telecommunications, or natural gas. Before their first day of class, recently-hired Training Specialists (we call them “Maroons”) complete NLC’s instructor training academy where they learn to excel as educators for adult learners. Every year, our Maroons deliver training to thousands of industry workers from pre-apprentice level to advanced, both on campus and all over the nation. NLC’s Maroons have the following qualities and experience: • 8-10 years of applicable work experience • A deep love for training • The heart of a mentor and coach • A passion to see people learn and grow

Accounting & Finance
Accounting & Finance supports every department of the organization with vital bookkeeping and reporting tasks. These teams offer student tuition services, provide intel to support business growth opportunities, and assist equipment purchases, to name a few key responsibilities.

Marketing
Marketing works closely with NLC’s Admissions, NLC Creative, and contracted agencies to attract students and companies to our programs and services. They use data-driven analytics combined with focus group testing to understand the customer, their goals, and how to align NLC’s offerings to deliver key outcomes. Marketing projects vary in size and scope, ranging anywhere from designing and delivering on high-level strategic goals to campaign management and the development of collateral.

Compliance & Registrar
The Compliance & Registrar teams work diligently to ensure student records and career program details exceed the requirements of our accrediting agency, ACCSC.

Innovations & Manufacturing
Innovations & Manufacturing develop and manufacture industry-specific training products for the industries we serve. These training products are unique in the industry, delivering an unparalleled educational experience. They are used by NLC’s Mobile Training Team and purchased outright by utilities and contractors around the nation.

Curriculum
NLC’s Curriculum department develops and designs industry-leading curriculum and training programs in use by NLC and hundreds of utility and construction companies across the U.S. Our curriculum ranges from entry-level career training programs to advanced material used by industry leading professionals. With a large staff of project managers, technical communicators, and graphics artists, our Curriculum team prides itself on educational excellence in every project.

Print Production
NLC’s Print Production shop stays very busy producing high quality print jobs for all of NLC’s curriculum and marketing materials that get shipped all over the U.S. Our print shop is full service with trimming, binding, and packaging services.

CAMPUS OPERATIONS
Our Campus Operations Staff provide the infrastructure services that keep our campuses operating with educational excellence every day. Their work ranges from assisting Training Specialists and students with day-to-day tasks to tracking student progress and maintaining facilities and outdoor training environments. Campus Operations also organizes beginning and end of term logistics like student rodeos and graduation ceremonies.

Information Technology
Information Technology (IT) supports every department in the company by managing everything from corporate internet and servers to video conferencing technology. With several unique scenarios such as classroom technology, video production computer support, and an in-house print shop, IT requires technicians with a deep understanding of the latest enterprise IT solutions, creative problem solving skills, and an unflappable customer service mindset.

Admissions
The Admissions team guides potential students through the enrollment process, enthusiastically answering questions and providing information about the trade and our entry-level educational programs. They engage with program candidates over phone, email, video chat, and text, and help them complete all necessary steps to move them from a marketing lead to enrolled student.

Company Training & Services
NLC’s Company Training & Services is a large department offering a wide variety of services to industry utilities and contractors. Their mission is to improve industry education, training, safety, and productivity, as well as provide programs to help companies recruit and develop the industry’s workforce. Service offerings include: • Mobile and on-campus utility training services for both workforce and trainer training • Assessments as a service for B2B recruitment, workforce, curriculum, trainer, and training infrastructure • Workforce development services • Apprenticeship programs and services

Culture & People
The Culture & People (C&P) department’s mission is to ensure NLC is a great place to work and build a career. This team works to provide an exceptional employee experience from the recruitment process through growth and advancement opportunities at NLC. C&P is comprised of Talent Acquisition, People Operations (core HR function), Internal Communications & Experience, and Learning & Development professionals.

Creative Services
NLC Creative is like an in-house design and production agency. The team is a creative hub for brand guidelines, video production & photography services, graphic design, 3D modeling & animation, and basic web and mobile app management.

Supply Chain
NLC’s Supply Chain department handles all inventory, stocking, and shipping services for all campuses. This department keeps all trade related consumables in stock in addition to providing regulation compliant shipping services.

HEALTHCARE
NLC offers three medical insurance options to choose from. NLC pays between 75% to 90% of the employee and dependent premium, depending on what medical plan you choose. NLC’s insurance options also provide employees opportunities to utilize pre-tax spending and savings accounts for healthcare and dependent care costs. NLC also offers optional dental and vision insurance.
401(K) Savings
Our employees may participate in NLC’s 401(k) plan as soon as they are hired. Employees are eligible for a company match up to 4.5% and are fully vested immediately.

NLC provides $15,000 in life insurance coverage for each employee. Our employees may purchase additional coverage for themselves and their dependents.
Short-term disability Insurance
In Idaho, Texas, and Florida, NLC provides a short-term disability benefit for each employee. The benefit pays 60% of your weekly earnings, up to a maximum of $1,000 per week. California employees are eligible for the state-run disability plan.
Long-Term Disability insurance
Full-time, regular NLC employees are provided a long-term disability benefit, which pays up to 60% of monthly earnings and maxes out at
wellness program
NLC’s Wellness Program provides up to $150 per year in reimbursement for qualified wellness expenses. Qualifying expenses include gym dues, the cost of protein supplements, or taking an aerial yoga class, to name a few. Additionally, joining a team sport, taking a CPR or First Aid class, having an eye exam, and getting a flu shot each qualify for a reimbursement of $25 under our “Take Good Care” program.
